Gift the Gift of Style and Confidence

Looking good instantly makes us feel good and confident, but many women experience gazing in the wardrobe and not knowing what to wear on a daily basis.

With Christmas just round the corner, the gift of an image consultation is not only a fabulous ‘me time’ treat but it gives the receiver all the tools she needs to ensure they look and feel great, always.
Whether it's your mother, daughter, partner, sister or best friend, image and beauty makeovers make the perfect special gift for Christmas.

Surprise and delight someone with a unique gift that will last a lifetime.

If she loves watching the style makeovers on television and wishes she could have the same experience herself, then a style and beauty gift will give her renewed confidence and help her become a more savvy shopper, when she discovers what really suits her and how to put it all together.

These unique presents, are available to suit a range of budgets, starting with a Make-Up Lesson, through to an individual Colour or Style Consultation, or go for the full works with a Full Image Makeover!

Sequins: a winter must-have

Sequins are like little rays of sunshine in the winter but how much
of them you want to wear will depend on your personal preferences
and what suits you.

All over sequin
If you are going to invest in a sequin dress then you need to be
confident that you look good in it. Choose the right style and an
appropriate length. Smaller sequins are easier to wear and less
rigid on curvy figures than the bigger paillettes.

Separates and embellishment
You want the sequins to set off your outfit so you might choose a
simple top, a little shrug or find something with embellishment on it.
Do remember that sequins will be the most eye-catching part of
your outfit so be sure to wear them on a flattering part of your body!

Which shade?
Consider your skin tone: warmer skin tones are better with gold, bronze
and copper shades. Cool, pinkish skin tones look better in silver, white
or black. Alternatively, find sequins in one of your best colours.

How to Shine through the Party Season

How to Shine through the Party Season

However we celebrate Christmas, it's always a pleasure
to dress up for the occasion and bring some colour and
sparkle into the darker days. Colours and sequins are key

this year so make sure you choose your most fabulous colours
and choose the right sequin pieces for you so that you will
dazzle all through the festive season!

Red: this season's hottest colour

Red is perfect at this time of year as it brings energy and
glamour to your winter wardrobe. A red dress makes a bold
statement so if you like to be understated, it’s not for you. It is,
without a doubt, this season’s favourite colour.

Which shade?
There is a shade of red for every colouring. Darker colourings
can wear deep scarlet, a lighter geranium red works well for
blondes, redheads can wear warm tomato red. Choose cool blue
-reds for grey to white hair tones.

Teal: a flattering shade for everyone

Teal can look particularly striking if it’s in the right shade for you
and in a good fabric. Under the teal family you also have the
beautiful Chinese blues and aquas which are flattering on many
complexions. Wear them as dark or as light as your colouring will allow.

Which shade?
Darker colourings need a deeper shade but should choose satin
or add some sparkle to lift it. It is very flattering on redheads, in
any fabric. Find lighter shades if you are fair or grey/white;
keep the fabric light too.

Purple: opulent and fun

There is something about purple that says luxury. It also projects
confidence and a bit of creativity. Wear it in sumptuous
satin or rich velvet for opulent glamour. This colour also has a shade
for everyone although the deeper tones are a great alternative to
black as they have the same slimming effect.

Which shade?
Deep purple to aubergine for darker colourings, medium shades
for redheads, violet and light periwinkles are best for blondes.
Cool shades from purple to icy violet look fabulous against white/
grey hair.

Choosing the Right Colour Blocking for You

Choosing The Right Colours For You

Here is a simple guide to who can wear what from subtler combinations to seriously bold blocking.

As long as you stick to colours within your palette you can play with opposites (say, red and blue) or make it more subtle by wearing one of your neutral colours (say stone, chocolate or charcoal) with another brighter colour from your palette. The ultimate colour blocking is of course white (your best white of course, say for a shirt) and black (say for the trousers/skirts), together with some bold coloured shoes and handbag this is an easy combination to put together. See below for ideas within your colour palette. (If you don't know which palette is best for you, now is the time to have that colour consultation you have promised yourself).

LIGHT colouring
Sensible colour blocking: light aqua with stone
Bold colour blocking: dusty rose with light periwinkle
Bolder colour blocking: violet with geranium

DEEP colouring
Sensible colour blocking: emerald green / dark navy
Bold colour blocking: scarlet / purple
Bolder colour blocking: lime / bittersweet

WARM colouring
Sensible colour blocking: lime / camel
Bold colour blocking: purple / bittersweet
Bolder colour blocking: amber / teal

COOL colouring
Sensible colour blocking: light periwinkle / purple
Bold colour blocking: hot pink / royal blue
Bolder colour blocking: duckegg / blue red

CLEAR colouring
Sensible colour blocking: true red / charcoal
Bold colour blocking: bright periwinkle / blush pink
Bolder colour blocking: apple green / true blue

SOFT colouring
Sensible colour blocking: verbena / cocoa
Bold colour blocking: claret / soft violet
Bolder colour blocking: sky blue / emerald turquoise

Bring colour into your look, not only with clothes but with shoes, handbags, nail colour (go for bright reds (within your palette, of course) or if you dare, go for the bright blues, greens and purples too).

A shirt dress becomes part of your colour blocking wardrobe when cinched with a contrasting belt and teamed with a brightly coloured handbag to finish off your look.
